Product
Ghostwriter is a pipeline product. The point is not just saving links; it is turning messy incoming reading into a format you will actually finish.
Inputs
Ghostwriter can aggregate:
- RSS and Atom feeds
- Newsletter emails from a Gmail label
- Saved articles from a Wallabag instance
These sources end up in one processing flow instead of separate reading queues.
Extraction
After fetching items, Ghostwriter extracts clean readable article text. This is what makes the output suitable for EPUB instead of forcing you to read from a browser capture or raw feed description.
Two reading modes
Ghostwriter supports two distinct ways to shape the digest:
- Fidelity mode keeps the article content for full reading.
- Briefing mode asks the configured AI provider to summarize the material into a shorter briefing.
That lets you choose whether a feed belongs in a deep-reading bundle or a compressed overview.
Outputs
EPUB digests
The main output is an EPUB file compiled from the articles selected for the run. This makes the result easy to read on phones, tablets, and e-ink readers.
Optional podcast episodes
Ghostwriter can also generate AI-narrated podcast episodes from digest content. The product supports different narration styles, including conversational and monologue formats, and publishes the result as an RSS podcast feed for your player of choice.
Scheduling
Ghostwriter is meant to run on a schedule. Morning, noon, or evening digests let you batch reading into deliberate sessions instead of checking feeds continuously throughout the day.
Optional companion apps
Ghostwriter is usable on its own through the web UI and generated outputs. Companion apps such as Epilogue can connect to it, but they are optional rather than required.
